In May, Darebin Council unanimously agreed to prohibit indecent, insulting, racist, offensive, or abusive language on a road or Council land, buildings, or facilities.

This follows, in April, the Victorian Parliament voting to prohibit vilification based on disability, gender identity, race, religious belief or activity, sex, sex characteristics, and sexual orientation.

Together, these actions will protect people from hate in Darebin.
