Include Beyblade as an Official Olympic Sport in 2026
The Issue
Beyblade, a competitive spinning top game, has turned into a global phenomenon after its origin in Japan in the year 1999. With its official competitive events held across 30+ countries, we believe it's time that Beyblade is recognized as an official sport in the Olympic Games.
Beyblade not only promotes strategic thinking and precision but also fosters international camaraderie among millions of its players worldwide. Currently, the World Beyblade Organization holds annual tournaments that successfully gather hundreds of individuals competing enthusiastically.
The global reach is undeniable - it encourages strategic thinking and instills a sense of pride and competitiveness in its participants, traits that are in line with the Olympic spirit.
As per the Olympic Charter, a sport can be recognized if it applies the rules of Olympism and promotes a peaceful society concerning education of youth through sport. Beyblade meets these criteria as it contributes to developing a peaceful and better world by educating youth through a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and fair play.
Incorporating Beyblade as an official sport in the Olympic Games would not only give due recognition to the incredible skills possessed by these athletes, but also cater to a youth-centric approach, broadening the appeal of the Games.
Let's embrace the change, progress, and spirit of competition. Beyblade deserves an official place in the sporting legacy of the Olympic Games. We urge the International Olympic Committee to consider this proposal. Sign this petition to support Beyblade becoming an official Olympic sport.
