Our great sadness today is that there was such catastrophic breakdown of effective communication between the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas Board of Directors, the Executive Director, and its Artistic Staff as well as the families such that a positive resolution never happened. At this moment in time, the chorus as we have known it for 25 years is gone. There is no Artistic Staff. May 1 will be the final concert and it will be as masterful as you have come to expect of this organization.
The Artistic Staff and parents have facts surrounding the current situation that do not match those presented by the Board. In place of open conversation properly mediated, the Board hired a lawyer. In essence, the Board that exists to support and nurture its artists and children has been either unwilling or unable to do so.
Hundreds of children will miss Cynthia Nott, Nora Henson, Kelly Pfaffenberger, Terrie Preskitt-Brown, Kimberley Ahrens, their assistants and pianists. We, the parents, want to thank these extraordinary people for having created a harmonious, positive, and productive culture for a quarter of a century and such a beautiful model of choral excellence for our children.
