The Issue

PETITION FOR THE PRESERVATION AND REOPENING OF EAST AFRICA RACKET SPORTS CLUB (EARSC)

To:
The Leadership of Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club and All Relevant Stakeholders

We, the undersigned members, athletes, sports enthusiasts, and supporters of the East Africa Racket Sports Club (EARSC), respectfully call upon all stakeholders to work together to preserve this important sporting facility and facilitate its prompt reopening.

EARSC has become one of Tanzania's leading centres for pickleball and padel, bringing together thousands of players, families, and visitors while promoting health, recreation, tourism, and international sporting excellence. Its closure has disrupted a thriving sporting community and affected countless members who rely on the Club as a place to play, compete, and connect.

We acknowledge that legal and contractual matters exist between the parties. However, we respectfully urge that these issues be resolved through constructive dialogue, good-faith negotiations, and respect for the rule of law, with the shared objective of reopening EARSC as quickly as possible.

We therefore call upon all stakeholders to:

Engage in constructive and good-faith discussions to reach an amicable resolution.
Take all reasonable steps to facilitate the immediate reopening of EARSC.
Preserve and protect the Club's facilities, reputation, and contribution to sport in Tanzania.
Prioritise the interests of the thousands of players, families, and community members affected by the closure.
Safeguard the legacy of Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club and EARSC for current and future generations.
This petition is a peaceful expression of public support for the preservation and reopening of EARSC. It is intended to encourage cooperation, dialogue, and a positive resolution that serves the best interests of the sporting community and the public.

Together, let us preserve the legacy of Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club and EARSC—for sport, for community, and for future generations.
