The public outreach meeting conducted by the engineering consultants hired by SLOCOG went extremely well. The room was packed. With a showing of hands everyone, except approximately 4 people, supported fixing the El Campo death trap. The engineers work was thorough and convincing that closing unsafe left hand turns onto 101 significantly increases public safety with limited effects on other intersections. SLOCOG staff answered questions and were very thoughtful, kind and supportive.
BUT we are not done until the April 3 SLOCOG vote makes it happen. So we still urgently need you to:
Make a written comment of support to stop unsafe left hand turns from El Campo onto US 101 to pio@slocog.org on or before Wednesday March 27th. This will ensure the report that goes to SLOCOG shows the overwhelming public demand for this change.
The meeting was packed with people supporting fixing this but we absolutely need every comment possible, each submitted to pio@slocog.org.
Thank you, together we are actually saving the next Jordan. Becky and I are so grateful.
