We need your support to go on record at tonight’s (Thursday) public outreach meeting with the consultants working for SLOCOG that we demand changes to El Campo's unsafe left hand turns across 4 lanes of freeway speed traffic. Becky and I will be there but we cannot do this alone - we need your support. Yes, it is a matter of life and death.
The public outreach meeting will take place March 21st from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Arroyo Grande Hospital Annex Conference Room (345 South Halcyon Road, Arroyo Grande).
The meeting will be open house style with stations set up around the room that will review El Campo traffic displacement study (so you can come and go on your schedule). The consultants who conducted the study will have staff at the meeting along with SLOCOG, the County of San Luis Obispo, and the City of Arroyo Grande. If individuals have questions, they can approach staff and ask questions directly. There will also be info sheets on hand and the ability to take written public comment at the meeting.
Remember it was public meetings like this one that real estate developers and others used to get on record "public sentiment" in 2011 to prevent El Campo's unsafe left hand turns from being closed with a median barrier - a result that directly led to our Jordan being killed there on October 7, 2018.
Photo on this update: It is a picture of Jordan's grave today, March 20th. It's his Mom, Becky's, birthday today and we wanted to spend some time with him.
