NRI Natter started this petition to Middle-class Indian citizens and

June 2020:

Please note: Do NOT sign this e-petition if you are part of India's elite (or if you are a celebrity, iconic figure, prominent personality, newsmaker, or a VIP).

Because this e-petition is for ordinary, conscientious, courageous, and responsible citizens willing to play a fundamentally different, refreshingly exciting role as individuals in the larger community, society and national affairs.  This petition is for those Indians who don't get hyper-emotional every time newspapers or TV channels publish sentimental images and soundbites, but can think with a calm mind, and see through manipulative narratives (like "boycott this, don't buy that"), statecraft and orchestrated "reality" made for TV/print media, and have a good, sharp memory, which doesn't make them forgetful.

BELOW IS THE PETITION.

Yes, I am a middle-class (middle-income) Indian citizen. And I believe it's simply not going to be enough to just sign e-petitions or rant online against perennial, persistent problems.

E-rants, e-petitions are fine, welcome, but won't be enough to bring about lasting, transformative change. I see it's essential to ACT -- "just do it" -- too. For, REAL change requires REAL effort, not just e-outrage.

REAL change requires new thinking, fresh approach. Cooperation and collaboration. Creativity and contribution. Courage and conviction. Consistency and commitment.

I strongly agree with NRI-Natter (https://www.nrinatter.com) that the majority middle-class Indians need to quickly evolve into responsible, powerful and wealthy citizens, so as to play a completely different role as individuals in the larger society and in national affairs. More so because we are confronting COVID-19, the pandemic that could sound the death knell for us as a nation, perhaps even humanity.

Yes, the time has come for middle-class Indians worldwide (who, along with the low-income citizens, form the majority non-elites in the Indian society) to quickly and urgently explore ways of coalescing into an integrated, well-coordinated, united group.

It is high time that they develop a long-term vision for collective, peaceful, imaginative action that can help re-invent and re-vitalize India into a potential superpower and a world-leading economy.

I strongly agree that the year 2020 should be the starting point for 'Citizenship 2.0', a new form of citizen participation and involvement in community and national affairs in India.

I'd also like to urge my fellow middle-class Indians to sign this petition and join the middle class reawakening campaign of NRInatter.com.

I learn the “NRInatter.com” website and its videos on YouTube clearly illustrate how this campaign will transform the lives of the majority at both personal and community levels, besides reinvigorating the socio-economic fabric of the entire nation.

I understand the NRInatter.com’s campaign envisages infusing India with fresh vitality and a long-term vision, empowering ordinary citizens in the real sense of the word, and thereby setting a glorious example of a genuine democracy for the rest of the world.

I thank NRI-Natter for giving me this opportunity.

I hereby sign this online petition voluntarily and wholeheartedly.
