On Sunday, May 29th in Indianapolis the Indy 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will once again release tens of thousands of balloons to pollute the countryside. For 68 years this wasteful & destructive activity has been "tradition". Although the IMS has been made aware of the ugly dangerous litter their balloons become, they still choose to start their race day by tossing colorful trash out into the environment where it will come to rest on land, lake & sea - risking harm to any animal that comes in contact with the deadly garbage. They've been ignoring public outrage for decades. It is time for them to finally halt their destructive tradition. Please IMS, you have made such great improvements to your event every year.  Lets take this next step to make the Indy 500 friendly to all people, animals, and the environment.
