Improving the Milford Orange Animal Shelter

The Issue

Milford Orange Animal Shelter is currently far from meeting the standards our beloved animals deserve. As passionate members of the Milford Orange Animal Rescue (MOAR), a nonprofit organization established to improve the conditions of the Milford Orange Pound, we have tirelessly advocated for better living conditions for the animals in our community. Sadly, our pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears. We believe it's time to reach out to the broader community to rally for a new state-of-the-art animal shelter that caters to the needs of our impounded animals. Our current facility lacks the essential amenities required to provide a nurturing and healthy environment for rescued pets. There's an urgent need for spacious areas where animals can run and play, more modern kennels to accommodate them, and a community room dedicated to training volunteers who can enrich their lives. It's heartbreaking knowing our shelter cannot house cats or provide the separated spaces necessary to prevent health issues like ringworm outbreaks. Improving the animal shelter in Milford, CT, involves constructing separate and updated kennels for new arrivals, providing a dedicated cat room to prevent disease outbreaks, and ensuring all our rescues have the comforts of home to ease their transition while they await adoption. These updates are not mere conveniences but necessities for the wellbeing of animals who have already been through enough hardship. We envision a shelter where animals feel safe and loved, and where volunteers can properly care for them in a well-equipped facility.  I ask each of you to consider the difference we can make in the lives of these animals by supporting the construction of a new facility. Your signature could help transform Milford Orange Animal Shelter into a beacon of hope and care for all impounded animals. Let's ensure our four-legged friends have the quality of life they deserve. Please, sign the petition and help us reach our goal.
