We, the undersigned students of Cogtong National High School, Grade 12 students respectfully request your attention to the issue of inadequate ventilation and discomfort in our classrooms.

Ceiling fans or electric fans are essential in every classroom because they create a comfortable and conducive learning environment. They circulate air, promoting better ventilation and a cooler temperature, which helps students focus and learn more effectively. However due to a lot of students in one classroom the ceiling fans are not enough to overcome  the heat, many students experience too much heat, and we students of Cogtong National High School personally experience that heat and uncomfort.

Concerns

• Unbearable Heat, many classrooms experience extremely high temperatures, especially during sunny days particularly  in the afternoon making it difficult to focus and learn effectively.
• Impact on Learning, a lack of proper ventilation can negatively impact students concentration, performance, and overall well-being.

While this can also lead to discomfort, fatigue, difficulty in breathing and could lose consciousness.

 

Request:

We are requesting you to install electric/ceiling fans in all classrooms in Cogtong National High School that lack adequate ventilation. This simple and affordable solution would significantly improve the learning environment for all students and staff.

• Improved Comfort, fans would provide a much-needed source of air circulation, reducing heat.
•  Enhanced Learning, a more comfortable environment leads to improved focus and concentration, resulting in better academic performance.
• Improved Health, Proper ventilation reduces the risk of heat-related illnesses and promotes overall health and well-being.
