The new Co-op on Gloucester Road, Bristol is oppressively dark, making it an unhealthy working and unpleasant shopping environment. Concerns have been raised by many customers about the oppressive darkness. It is widely noted that poor lighting can significantly impact health, leading to symptoms like eye strain and headaches, increased stress, and lowered mood and energy levels. Thus, working in such dimly lit conditions for extended periods is unquestionably detrimental. We must rectify this situation for the wonderful staff who serve our community. We urge the Co-op management to implement measures to increase the amount of natural light in the Gloucester Road shop.
