I am an Amazon delivery driver who, like many others, feels overworked and underpaid. Driving countless routes each day, adhering to tight schedules, and dealing with constant pressure to meet demand, we are on the frontline of Amazon's billion-dollar operation. Exhaustion is common, and we receive little to no additional compensation for what can often be 12-hour days, and routine weekend work. It's critical that we receive fairer treatment.

We are calling for Amazon to institute better working conditions, including realistic shift lengths and substantial break times. Additionally, we require improved pay to reflect the intensive labour and commitment we put into our roles daily. We believe it is equitable to ask for increased benefits, insurance, and paid time off. As a billion-dollar company, Amazon can afford to treat its drivers with dignity and respect.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for delivery drivers in the United States is $14.66 per hour. However, Amazon drivers often earn less than this median despite their grueling hours and workload. We are asking for a just adjustment that takes into account the financial, physical, and emotional toll on us as drivers. (BLS, 2020)
