This petition begins from a very personal place of grievance. I am a resident of Ward no.35, Bhikhanpur, Bhagalpur in Bihar, where the unregulated dumping of garbage has turned from a nuisance into a life-threatening issue. Despite numerous complaints lodged over the past week, our local corporator has been unresponsive, turning a blind eye to this escalating problem. Every day, mountains of garbage continue to pile up next to my house, posing a serious health risk and infringing upon my fundamental right to life and clean living conditions.

Improper waste disposal not only has immediate implications for individual health, but can also lead to long-term environmental damage. According to the World Health Organization, about 25% of diseases worldwide are caused by environmental exposure, which can often be prevented through improved environmental management – including waste management.

The crisis at hand, however, is not just about the garbage dump spilling over onto the streets of Bhikhanpur or the health hazards imposed upon myself and my neighbors. It's about how our city handles waste, about ensuring our public health systems are robust, and our local administrations proactive. This issue calls for continuous, efficient waste management across Bhagalpur, Bihar, not just in our local ward.

I urge the local municipality to approach this with the severity and urgency it warrants and take immediate steps to not only clear the existing garbage, but also to improve upon the overall waste management systems within our city.
