Thank you — truly — to every single person who has signed, shared, and spoken up so far. Your support isn’t just numbers on a page. It’s a community standing together and saying, “We can do better than this.”

Over the past few days, many people have asked what exactly I’m hoping will change. And the honest answer is simple: I want to stop waiting for something awful to happen before action is taken.

Every one of us knows how dangerous this stretch of road can be. We’ve all seen cars flying through the trees on Flatt’s Lane. We’ve watched children trying to cross near the pub to get the school bus. We’ve felt that knot in our stomach when a car comes over the brow of the hill far too fast. We shouldn’t have to live with that fear.

🚦 What I’m Asking For — Because Lives Are Worth Slowing Down For

  • Flatt’s Lane through the trees – currently national speed limit
Reduce to 40mph before someone gets hurt

  • The 40mph zone outside the new-build estate
Reduce to 30mph to protect families walking in and out of the estate

  • Where it currently drops to 30mph at the brow of the hill
Reduce to 20mph, continuing right around past the school — because children deserve to feel safe on their way to learn

  • A proper crossing near the bus stop
A pelican or zebra crossing (whichever is most appropriate) so parents aren’t holding their breath every morning and afternoon and the older generation can cross safely and at their own speed

These aren’t extreme demands. They’re common‑sense changes that put people before speed. They’re changes that could prevent a tragedy instead of reacting to one.

Thank you again for standing with me. Please keep sharing — the more voices we have, the harder we are to ignore.
