I - and many others in my community - am deeply affected by the traffic issues arising at the intersection of 112/Marchant/Carrie Smith Rd. The traffic has seen a significant increase due to many factors, notably the traffic from Shaw Elementary, several new subdivisions, and construction traffic related to the new 612 bypass expansion. This increase has led to longer travel times and increased road safety concerns for residents, especially at peak morning and afternoon traffic times. The recent start of a new 200 house subdivision across from Ecclesia college on Marchant will have a significant impact on the severity of the current situation. 

Long term we are asking for this intersection to be prioritized for the upcoming roundabout road improvement project.

For a more immediate interim solution, we are asking for dedicated turn lanes/signals for all lanes of traffic, similar to the intersection of 112/West Pleasant Grove road. These lanes can still be used and connected to the roundabout when the 112 expansion project is finished. Or find another meaningful immediate alternative to alleviate congestion for all traffic lanes.

We believe this is a public safety issue that deserves immediate attention. Join us in urging the city/county/state to rectify this problem by prioritizing the intersection at 112/Marchant/Carrie Smith for the upcoming 112 expansion and finding a meaningful immediate interim solution for the current lane congestion.
