I am a lifelong resident of Mumbai, and the current state of our city's police fleet deeply concerns me. The quality of cars in the fleet is embarrassingly poor and clearly affects the performance of our dedicated law enforcement officers.

Mumbai city, with a population of over 20 million, deserves a well-equipped and up-to-date police fleet that can adequately respond to public safety concerns. Our police officers need reliable transportation to combat problems and uphold law and order effectively. Currently, the inadequate maintenance and outdated models of vehicles are putting our officers and the public at risk. 

According to the India Times, there have been several instances where police vehicles have broken down while in service, further hindering the efficacy of law enforcement and public safety. This is not just an inconvenience but a genuine risk to our city's citizens.

We call upon the Mumbai Police Department and the city administration to prioritize the urgent need for improved vehicles. By investing in a newer, safer, and more reliable police fleet, we are investing in the safety and overall well-being of our city.
