REMINDER - This is being discussed at City of Surprise Government's City Council meeting on Tuesday, 5/21!
This City Council Meeting is going to be public hearing on the new development impact fee structure our Surprise City Council just unanimously voted to approve despite the roadway impact fees being stricken from the initial study from TischlerBise's findings.
Let's show up & fill City Hall!
They have removed the road-specific development impact fees and are instead trying to keep the status-quo of "required half-street improvements," which often lead to only the areas immediately adjacent to the building/development taking place being improved and not the entire road/street/travel corridor. Moreover, it can also create the scalloped roadways we see ALL OVER SURPRISE.
The city has also bent once again to all of the developers, lobbyist groups, homebuilders, etc. and GREATLY REDUCED many of the development impact fees over all. Considering we have a BUDGET DEFICIT, shouldn't they focus on collecting the proper amount of monies from these developers to ensure us existing residents don't have to forfeit existing services, maintenance, and improvements that should be equitably paid into by ALL WHO USE CITY RESOURCES?
