Have you driven around and around looking for a parking space when you needed to see patients? These people don't look for a space because they have their own designated space, and you will get a $95 ticket if you park in it. Here's the breakdown of who the 53 VIPs are. You decide whether you think they should have priority over monthly garage customers like you who see patients.

MD Department Chiefs - 18 (includes medicine, surgery, pediatrics, etc)

Administrators (Medical) - 3 (Chief of Staff, Chief Medial Officer, Director Graduate Medical Education)

Nursing:

Director of Nursing - 5 (how many directors of nursing are there?)

Deputy Executive Director of Nursing - 1

Director of Nursing Behavioral Health - 1

Chief Nurse Executive - 1

Administrators (non medical):

President Medical Staff (MD in administrative role)

Senior Executive Director Quality Management - 1

Chief Human Resources Officer -1

Chief Quality Officer -1

Deputy Chief Financial Officer - 1

Director of Operations - 1

Chief Health Informatics Officer - 1

Network Director Health Analytics - 1

Director Facility Management - 1

Chief Experience Officer - 1

Director Engineering - 1

Chief Financial Officer - 1

Chief Information Officer - 1

Associate Executive Director Risk Management - 1

Associate Executive Director Health Info Management - 1

Chief Executive Officer - 1

Administrator on Duty - 1

Chief Operating Officer - 1

Chief of Hospital Police - 1

Star of the Month - 1

Public Affairs - 1

Director of Community Affairs - 1

TOTAL: 53

Remember, the garage is licensed for 750 cars but there are 900 monthly parkers. The VIP spots represent 5.8% of the number of monthly parkers and 7% of the number of actual spaces for which the garage is licensed.

The next update will be about the number and placement of the accessible parking spaces and their compliance with Federal ADA standards (or lack of compliance), as well as their placement far from the hospital entrance.
