The Issue

Over the last three years, our community has tragically lost two beloved members to pedestrian accidents at busy intersections. This is a harsh reminder that we are falling short in providing safe and comfortable walking conditions for our residents.

Our fraying sidewalks, poorly lit roads, and absence of crosswalks at busy junctions are not only unwelcoming but also dangerous. Nationwide, the lack of proper infrastructure is a key element in approximately 6,227 pedestrian deaths every year, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association. This is a number that has been climbing over the past decade.

We are therefore petitioning our local government to prioritize pedestrian safety by constructing new sidewalks and crosswalks in high-traffic areas and improving street lighting. It is time we stepped in the right direction towards creating safe, walk-friendly streets that will safeguard our community members.

Join us in raising our voices for a safer community. Your support can bring about an essential change and prevent further unnecessary losses. Please sign this petition to call for better sidewalk, crosswalk, and street lighting infrastructure.
