Improve Safety Signage in The Entrance Channel

The issue

Update: The 11 year old boy was found today, 6th November Wednesday. My condolences go out to the family and all those who spent tireless hours dedicated to searching for him and to those who found him. Rest In Peace, Laith Alaid ❤️

Tragedy struck our community when a little boy went missing on Sunday 3rd of November, taken away by the current. This devastating event brings the perilous potential of our local area, a threat that is all too often underestimated by residents and tourists alike. We are calling for urgent action to prevent future incidents like this.

Our local beaches, waters, and channels, while picturesque, can harbor hidden dangers. Both residents and people visiting from other states, even other countries, might not realize just how risky it can be to cross the channel or enter the waters. As a necessary step toward preventative action, we are petitioning for signs to be placed near the entrance of the channel/beach. These signs should clearly outline the potential hazards of the area, aiming to make everyone more aware of the need to stay safe and cautious.

Signs needs to be bright, big colourful and enticing. Also need to be presented in multilingual text so that everyone is able to understand it without any difficulty.

I know some of you may be wondering and thinking “but we already have signs why do we need more?” I feel adding more signs and them being more spread out around the area and being put around other places aswell in the area will; not only be beneficial but efficient to maintaining safety and I believe there’s no much thing as spreading too much awareness on something that could be harmful.

We are asking for your support to make this possible. It will take collective effort and commitment, but together we can make our local area safer for everyone, ensuring no more families have to endure such unthinkable pain.
