Hello all!
Thank you all for the support thus far. It has been great to hear your comments, both here and in person. I have some exciting updates to share:
- As you may have seen, a mobile speed radar was recently placed on Bilby Rd between Harvard Dr and Princeton Dr.
- A second speed sign was placed over the bridge in Hackettstown near Vermella, but has since been removed.
- The Oak Hill Board of Trustees has, independently of this petition drive, sent a letter to the town on behalf of the association highlighting similar concerns.
- I contacted the Township Clerk and was advised that they are in the process of scheduling a speed study with the Warren County Road Department.
These updates are excellent news for our cause as they have indicated that the Township acknowledges an issue exists and is taking preliminary steps to address it.
Next Steps
I will finalize and submit this petition along with all comments and signatures to the Township Clerk on Friday 11/21/2025. I will request that it be scheduled for discussion as part of the next Township Committee meeting, occurring in December. I will be in attendance to speak to the Committee on behalf of all signatories. If you are willing and able, please make an effort to attend as well to show the Committee that we are grateful for the preliminary steps that have been taken, but also to push for continued review resulting in a lasting resolution for this issue. I will post another update with a reminder of the date of the next meeting once this issue is scheduled for discussion.
