Every time I drive through the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 855, just south of Mundare, Alberta, I fear for my safety. It's not just me—my family, my friends, and everyone else who passes through this critical junction faces the same risk, day after day. Recently, my fears were confirmed when tragedy struck: in a span of just one month, there were three serious accidents, one of which resulted in a tragedy that claimed a life. This isn’t just a statistic; it’s a harsh reality for those living in our community.

This intersection, often busy with traffic, has become a recurring site of danger and heartache. The most recent casualty underlines the urgent need for changes to be made. We cannot stand by while our community continues to suffer from preventable accidents. Enhancing the safety of this intersection is more than just a logistical improvement—it's a moral necessity to protect everyone who relies on it.
