Improve Safety and Repair Hazardous Road Conditions on Richland Road & Main St. in Stouchsburg

The Issue

As residents of Stouchsburg and the surrounding area, we have suffered from the prolonged neglect our roads have endured. Two roads- Richland road and main st. Stouchsburg, pose an ever-increasing risk to our community. The hazardous conditions of these ignored roads have caused concern for our safety.

These roads that should provide us safety have instead put us in danger. Potholes, lack of signage, and inadequate lighting are the tangible proof of this lack of care. However, the real cost of this ongoing negligence cannot be enumerated by any metric – it is lived by each of us, every day.

The World Health Organization stated that approximately 1.35 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes. Neglected roads such as ours contribute to an increased risk of accidents. This risk is not faceless. It threatens us, our children, and every member of our community who uses these roads.

These are not just dangerous hazards but liabilities to the township and its residents who pays taxes to maintain these roads.

We demand immediate action to improve the conditions of Richland road & main st. It is our right to be able to move safely within our town.

We call on the township to repair these roads as a matter of urgency and implement measures to prevent further degradation. The security of our community depends on it. Protect us, protect our children, protect our neighbors. Sign this petition and join us in demanding safer roads for Stouchsburg.
