The residents of Holly Ridge and the surrounding area are deeply concerned about the safety at the intersection of Holly Ridge Road and Morris Landing Road. Specifically, the sharp curve is dangerous as it appears suddenly and without warning. In addition, Morris Landing Road seamlessly blends into Holly Ridge Road and can make driving (especially at night) confusing and dangerous. Accidents have occurred and citizens remain concerned about the intersection. 

If a three way stop is installed, drivers will be forced to slow down, acknowledge oncoming traffic, and take notice of vehicles merging from Morris Landing Road. The overall safety of the intersection will result in less accidents and a renewed sense of calm within the citizenry. 

Countless citizens have reached out to the county. Others have reached out to elected officials with the Town of Holly Ridge. The concern is shared by citizens and the town, however Onslow County has jurisdiction of the aforementioned intersection. Therefore, it is necessary for the county to take immediate action to make this intersection safe for residents by installing a three way stop. Population will increase steadily in the area. Now is the time to be proactive and remedy this safety concern before more vehicles engulf the area.
