I, a Tappan student, have recently come upon a serious issue at Tappan school. You know the recycling bins in teachers classrooms' ? Little to none of the things put into it by students are actually thrown away. The amount of paper used every day in classrooms is all being thrown away! I assumed after going on the science class field trip to the Ann Arbor city dump and recycling center, and learning about how only a small percentage of the recycling is actually recycled, that AAPS would be doing their part in that. I was sad and surprised to find out that the opposite is true, and they throw away the recycling! With climate change getting worse, and plastic pollution terrible, we need to make sure that our district is doing our part to help protect the environment we live in. Sign to help reach this goal.
