Hi Supporters,
Please see the below update that I received from Michael Regan's office last week.
Please be advised that:
- The Wakehurst Electorate Office has included a budget for pedestrian fencing, as well as other safety features (but asked for fencing as a priority) along Forest Way, in its recent budget submission;
- Northern Beaches Council has applied for some of the below funding you mention for pedestrian safety upgrades on Forest Way on the approaches to the Glen Street intersection, and I am following up the status of this with them.
I will let you now once I hear any news on the status of either of the above.

This is the funding source that I had suggested council investigate:

These projects will be delivered by councils, who have applied for funding in consultation with their local schools
Primary school students are being given a running start in 2024, as the NSW Government today announces a new $10 million Active Transport to School program to encourage children to safely walk, scoot or ride their bikes to school.
The program will fund small projects in walking, scooting and bike riding catchments around public schools, making it easier and safer for kids to travel to school.
It will deliver upgrades including wider footpaths, safer crossings and new street trees over the next two years.
Keep fighting!
