Today (Sun 20/8/23) there was a horrifying accident at the corner of Glen St and Forest Way.
I have sent the following email (below) to Minister Regan & Minister Cross and their office staff + the Editor of the Northern Beaches Advocate in response to this incident to make them aware (AGAIN) of just how dangerous this section of road is.
I hope that the occupants of this vehicle are OK.
Please continue to share this petition far and wide and keep the pressure on our state leaders. It is their responsibility to fix this stretch of road.

Hi Sally, Minister Regan and Minister Cross
I wanted to share with you the horrifying incident that I was made aware of today (Sun 20/08/23) at the Glen St and Forest Way intersection.
I did not witness the incident but was sent these photos (attached) from a supporter of the petition (https://chng.it/J87C8gd4ZY who felt that it was critical for us to share with you all, to highlight AGAIN just how dangerous this intersection is.
I stand at this intersection with my kids daily. Something needs to be done.
I am calling for an urgent fix before someone is killed.
As you can see from the photos, if there had been pedestrians standing at this corner, they would have been severely injured if not killed by this vehicle that flipped. I’m still not sure how the occupants of this car have fared, but I can only hope that they are OK.
What do we need to do as a collective group to get action on this?
The community has banded together to do what we can. We have created a petition, contacted our local state MP’s, met with you to discuss the issue and the ideas we have to make it safer for everyone. We have been and asking the rest of the community to share their stories of incidents and near misses and have collated all of this information into the petition. But despite our efforts the months are rolling along, and NOTHING is being done.
We need your support. I absolutely fear that someone will be killed whilst we are waiting for something to be done.
This accident should be a huge wake-up call and an opportunity to get the government to fix this stretch of road.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Kylie Westren (she/her)
