Improve Pedestrian Safety Crossing Starkey Ave at Sugarbush Hill Entrance

The Issue

The trail entrance on Starkey Ave, across from Sugarbush Hill, is a dangerous crossing with a blind curve for westbound traffic.

Pedestrians and bikers crossing there have had many close-call incidents. We shouldn’t have to wait for a serious injury or accident to occur before taking action.

We are asking the city of Zionsville to add solar-powered flashing lights to the “Caution Trail Entrance” sign to draw attention for westbound drivers.

This affects the families of Sugarbush Hill, residents of Zionsville Meadows senior community, and all those who use the trail system to access Starkey Park.
