Hello my name is Max. I am a student at Ossining High School. I have been skateboarding for over 7 years at the Ossining Skatepark. The Ossining Skatepark is very outdated compared to other skate parks in Westchester County. The following are some reasons why our skatepark is in need of improvements:

• The ramps have exposed corners which is a huge hazard.
• The ramps are made of old rusty metal; they get very hot in the summer. 
• There is a misuse of space.
• The lights do not work, so skateboarding at night is not even a possibility.

A well maintained skatepark will attract more people to our town. People that go to the skatepark could go to all of the stores and restaurants in our community which could help our town's economy. An improved skatepark would also attract more people to start skateboarding. If the skatepark is safe, then beginners will feel more confident on the board. Our skatepark should be maintained at the same level as all the other parks in Ossining. For example all the other athletic fields and courts have working lights.
