The Issue

On a recent walk at Lake Stanley Draper, I stumbled upon six terrified puppies who needed urgent help. As I waited, feeling their fear and desperation, I realized the response from the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare was far too slow. Despite calling for assistance immediately, it took nearly 10 hours and the heat of the day had increased by 20 degrees before I was contacted. By that time, I had already taken the puppies into my care, but this delayed response should never happen when animals' lives are at stake.

As a community, we need to urge the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare to improve their response times to emergencies. Animals in distress cannot afford hours of helpless waiting. Swift action is necessary to ensure they receive the care and protection they deserve. Implementing better practices and increasing resources can make a significant difference and save countless lives.

This incident highlights a broader issue of neglect towards abandoned and vulnerable animals. Animals are our responsibility, and when situations like this arise, a prompt response is vital. If we truly value these lives, we must ensure our local animal welfare services are equipped and ready to act efficiently.

I believe every animal deserves a chance to be loved and cared for. Enhancing the response times of the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare can transform frightening situations into stories of compassion and hope. Let us come together as a community to advocate for these changes.

Please sign this petition to demand that Oklahoma City Animal Welfare addresses their slow response times to improve outcomes for animals in urgent need. Together, we can make a difference for the voiceless members of our community.
