Hi everyone,

The petition seems to have ground to a halt (again), but with recent appeals from NHS Blood and Transplant on the News, I decided to rewrite parts of the petition text so that it focuses more on the technical issues that are stopping fit and healthy donors from coming forward and saving lives. I have sent out messages requesting support for improvements to the testing systems to continue.

I feel for all of you who are affected by the non-specific reactions and cannot donate blood at this time. But remember, it’s nothing to do with your health — it’s the technical issues that are affecting your eligibility. Those testing systems could be improved so the non-specific reactions could be a thing of the past.

Please keep those signatures coming and spread the word about this petition.
