We, the undersigned residents of WKU Rodes Harlin Hall, are deeply concerned about the ongoing water and air conditioning issues that have plagued our living conditions throughout the entire semester. The substandard maintenance of essential facilities has resulted in a dire situation where residents are subjected to water temperatures that are either scorching hot or freezing cold, posing serious health risks.

One student was reported to have almost passed out due to the extreme heat of the water, while another contracted pneumonia from the freezing cold water. These incidents highlight the urgent need for immediate action to address the unsafe water conditions that residents are being forced to endure.

Furthermore, the outdated air conditioning systems in our residence, dating back to the 1980s, have left us sweltering in boiling hot rooms. Despite repeated complaints and requests for maintenance to switch over to more effective cooling systems, we have been met with minimal response and reluctance from maintenance to address the issue promptly.

In light of these unacceptable living conditions and the failure of the administration to address our concerns, we, the students of WKU Rodes Harlin Hall, demand a refund for the substandard accommodations we have been subjected to. It is unjust for us to pay for living conditions that compromise our health and well-being.

We call for:

1. Immediate resolution of the water temperature issues to ensure the safety of residents.
2. Prompt upgrade of the air conditioning systems to provide adequate cooling in all rooms.
3. Transparent and effective communication from maintenance regarding the timeline for addressing these critical issues.
4. A refund for the inadequate living conditions and failure to address maintenance issues in a timely manner.

We stand united in our call for action and urge the administration to prioritize the well-being of residents at WKU Rodes Harlin Hall.
