Improve Kentucky Humane Shelter Regulations

The Issue

Animals in Kentucky County Humane Shelters require access to clean food and water.

If an injured animal comes to the shelter, they need to be seen by veterinarian within 72 hours.

Animals not claimed need to have rabies vaccination, and be neutered/spayed, before adopted out.

There is a board of directors from each county that oversees how the shelter is managed.

Members need to access the shelter monthly, and members may only hold one postion on the board.

Shelters should have one random inspection from the health department yearly.

We would like to see this petition make its way to desks of Kentucky representatives.

The goal is to provide better care for displaced animals in the state of Kentucky.
