Being students at the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), in Manipal, India, we hold our institution to high standards in every aspect, including technology. However, the current Wi-Fi speed of merely 15mbps falls woefully short of what a renowned educational industry should offer. The inadequate internet speed is not just a minor inconvenience; it is a significant barrier to our academic and personal growth.

We rely on high-speed internet for countless essential functions. Whether it's accessing academic resources, participating in virtual lectures, conducting research, or simply submitting assignments, a stable, fast internet connection is vital. Furthermore, in the digital age, students also need reliable internet for social connections, streaming educational content, and sometimes even unwinding with video games, which have been unfairly restricted in the past.

In the current scenario, our late-night study sessions and crucial research projects are frequently disrupted. The internet’s speed is further throttled during nighttime or blocked, making it almost impossible to work effectively during these hours. This issue becomes particularly pronounced during exams, where accessing online materials is of utmost importance to ensure thorough preparation.

We understand that network management can be challenging, but students at MAHE deserve an upgrade. Public universities and even some reputed schools in India provide better internet facilities than what we currently have. Increasing the Wi-Fi speed to at least 100mbps and ensuring consistent and unrestricted access would not only benefit students but would also enhance MAHE's reputation as a forward-thinking institution equipped to handle modern educational demands.

We propose that MAHE invests in upgrading their network infrastructure, allowing room for future expansions, and creating a user-friendly support system that ensures internet issues are resolved efficiently and swiftly.
