Improve Indian Railways Passenger Safety by Unblocking Emergency Exits

Improve Indian Railways Passenger Safety by Unblocking Emergency Exits
The Issue
As a regular commuter on Indian railways, I have noticed a significant safety concern that has received acknowledgment but appears to be ignored in terms of solutions or improvements. The issue primarily revolves around AC train coaches where one of the doors is often blocked by piled-up bedding rolls. As a consequence, only three out of four gates are available in a train coach for any emergency – be it a fire or otherwise.
This safety violation has been reported multiple times through offline, online means, RTI, CP gram, and PMO portals. Yet, all we have received are empty promises, with no concrete action taken to rectify this situation. For a year, I have been raising my voice against this- to no avail.
The railway hosts more than 23 million passengers daily (source: The Railway Board), and the negligence in ensuring accessible emergency exits puts millions at risk every day. I urge the Indian Railways and the Ministry of Railways to prioritize this pressing issue, enact stringent rules against blocking emergency exits, and strictly enforce them for passenger safety.
Please sign this petition and support me in demanding urgent rectification of this situation and ensuring safe travel for millions. Together, we can make our voices heard and make a difference.
