Emmanuel College recently sent out an email regarding the college's expectations on uniform on the 26 of September, 2023, at 2:46 pm. While most of the expectations have remained consistent over the years, it has been noticed that some expectations appear to be becoming stricter. Why is the uniform and the appearance of students’ much more important than their education and wellbeing?

Students that saw this email responded with disapproval, with comments such as; "Everything is so much more stricter than it used to be." "I miss the old principal." "I'm just here to learn... my appearance shouldn't matter" and many other comments of similar nature.

Emmanuel College Uniform Policy message 

It's time for the students, and maybe even parents and staff, to take action about the uniform policy and encourage positive change in the college to create a much more comfortable and beneficial atmosphere. Learning and education is so much more important than uniform and how the students choose to present themselves (while still holding a respectful and neat manner).

Since this issue has reached the news, we stress the issue is not just about mullets. It's about self expression and for students to be their own, individual and unique selves. The media is portraying only what they want other people to hear just because they are bored and want more attention and clout, but we do seriously care about this uniform policy issue.
