In November 2018, two cities wanted to hold a referendum related to alcohol sales by restaurants on Sundays (the "Brunch Bill").
Peachtree Corners (because Gwinnett would not let it combine that referendum with the mid-term election Gwinnett managed on the same day) instead: Arranged a polling place, Hired poll workers, Trained poll workers, Borrowed voting equipment, Placed required advertisements, Promoted the election, Configured polled place, Placed required signage, Conducted election, Tabulated results, and Audited and certified results.
Johns Creek called Fulton County and said "please add our referendum to the county ballot." Fulton did all the rest.
The results?
- Peachtree Corners had a 4% turnout on their Brunch Bill referendum. (It's hard to get voters to go to two places and vote in two different elections on the same day.)
- Johns Creek had a 64% turnout on their Brunch Bill referendum. (Mid-term voters who lived in Johns Creek saw that question on their county ballot along with all the other elections.)
