As a deeply devoted Hindu, the opportunity to visit Tirumala, one of our most sacred sanctums, is highly personal to me and countless others from diverse Indian states. The existing crowd management system at Tirumala, however, poses a significant barrier, making what should be a sacred experience highly stressful and inaccessible to many.

Visitors from Andhra, Karnataka, Chennai, among others, are fortunate to visit this 2000-year-old temple multiple times a year, while many devotees from other states rarely get a chance to visit even once. There is a discernible inequity here. The online algorithm for booking darshan tickets seems to favor southern states in a way, growing the gap between different sets of devotees.

Our plea is for the Temple Management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to implement a more equitable system using UIDAI data. By restricting repeat visits for a minimum period of 5years, like once in a 6months restriction, we could ensure that a larger number of Hindus get an equal opportunity for free darshan at least once in their lifetime. This will not only create a more inclusive experience but also alleviate the intense congestion currently at the temple.

We all understand the deep respect and faith towards Tirumala, this plea is not to curtail anyone's faith but to create an equitable and organized worship experience that honors both the sanctity of the place and fairness towards all devotees.

Therefore, we urgently call upon the TTD management to revise its crowd control methods and consider the use of UIDAI data to share this sacred experience with more devotees. Sign the petition and champion the right of all Hindus to access Tirumala freely.
