Improve Conditions for Animals Transported by Air

The Issue

As someone passionately committed to the welfare of animals, I have experienced concern and distress for creatures transported via air cargo.

This isn't just about ensuring our furry friends and travelling companions are safe and comfortable; it's also an opportunity for airlines to boost their revenue.

Recent studies prove that 26% of animals lose their lives during air transportation, purely due to poor conditions (Source: Animals and Society Institute). This indicates a serious problem that needs urgent attention, a problem where the margin for improvement could also lead to a healthy increase in an airline's revenue chart.

The proposition here is a win-win situation, creating safer travel conditions for animals while increasing economic advantages for airlines.

Inspired by the facilities of pet hotels, built-in cages can be assembled within cargo space to provide stable accommodation even during turbulence. Furthermore, introducing necessities such as food and water, as well as camera surveillance, can significantly improve the animals' welfare during flights. This enhanced service could justify a higher pricing model for airlines, potentially up to $2000, balancing the initial investment, and leading to long-term profit increases.

Approximately 2 million animals are transported by airlines in the USA each year (The US Department of Transportation). Improving their conditions will not only satisfy a moral obligation to these animals but increase financial gains for airlines, a win-win situation for all stakeholders involved.

It's time we demand major airlines to regulate and improve the conditions for animals during transportation, making it a safer and more profitable enterprise for all involved. Sign this petition to urge airlines to take definite steps towards improving conditions for animals in air transport.

Join me and thousands of others in urging airlines to rethink their cargo conditions, considering the welfare of animals as well as their potential profits. Please sign this petition to exemplify how much we care about the welfare of animals in transit and the promise of a more responsible and successful approach for airlines!
