Improve Church Street (Rt 100) Infrastructure in Burrillville, RI

The Issue

As a resident of Burrillville, I, like many others, have to navigate the deteriorating conditions of Church Street (Rt 100) from High Street to East Wallum Lake Road on a daily basis. This journey is not just a simple commute; it's an ordeal that puts unnecessary stress on our vehicles and compromises our safety.

Church Street has been neglected for far too long. The road is crumbling and lacks an efficient drainage system which exacerbates the problem during periods of heavy rain or snowfall. This not only poses risks for drivers but also contributes to the degradation of local water quality due to runoff.

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers' 2017 Infrastructure Report Card, Rhode Island's roads were given a grade D-, indicating that they are in poor condition with many elements approaching the end of their service life (ASCE). This is clearly evident in our community.

We urge the local government and RI Department of Transportation to prioritize repaving Church Street and establishing an effective drainage system. It's time we invest in infrastructure that can withstand weather conditions and provide safe passage for all residents who rely on this route daily.

Please sign this petition if you believe in improving road conditions for all residents who use Church Street regularly. Let us make our voices heard so we can drive safely without worrying about damaging our vehicles or endangering ourselves due to poor road conditions.
