Hello BVSD Friends:

Our effort to convince Boulder Valley School District to launch an advisory program is gaining ground. We have been in close conversation with the BVSD board. Our proposal is to fund a $50k pilot to design, implement, and assess the pilot in the upcoming '23-'24 school year.

April is a critical month because it's when the BVSD budget gets finalized. Here are two things you can do to help:

1) Spread this petition to your friends.

2) If you know of anyone who would speak at the upcoming board meeting on Tuesday, 4/11, have them sign up here. Have them contact me at ross@worldleadershipschool.com and I can provide suggested talking points.

Advisory is a regular time during the school week when students meet in small groups with a trusted advisory to build community. It's a time when students and teachers focus on relationships, rather than grades.

Districts around the nation, including Denver Public Schools, use advisory as a way to help children thrive and learn. Advisory also allows adults to identify children who might be a danger to themselves or others, and get them the help they need.

If you need inspiration, listen to the comments from Francesca Wehner (my daughter) at the last BVSD Board Meeting - go to minute 19:30.

Thanks for the support,

Ross Wehner and the BVSD Advisory Parent Committee
