Improve Brisbane's Public Transport System (again)

Improve Brisbane's Public Transport System (again)
The issue
Brisbane’s’ public transport system should be an efficient solution for everyone. Thousands of people reside in the outer suburbs, and they deserve a system that facilitates easy and quick travel to work or school without the struggle of multiple transfers, no-show buses and unexpected route changes. We didn’t need 2 or more transfers, we didn’t want an extra twenty minutes of transit time to get to and from work, we just want a simple and efficient public transport system that is easy to understand and (hopefully) more convenient to use.
The current issues contribute significantly to the worsening traffic conditions during peak hours. It has and will continue to impact not just people that catch these buses, but anyone driving, as well as pollute our city even more. Traffic congestion costs major cities like Brisbane hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. This affects not only commuting anywhere but also general quality of life. Adrian Schrinner can do better by implementing efficient solutions that serve both the economy and Brisbane residents.
We need a public transport reform that:
1. Increases the reliability of services by employing more frequent buses during peak periods.
2. Simplifies route planning, ensuring routes remain consistent, on time, and well-advertised.
3. Minimizes transfers, potentially through direct routes that make traveling across the city and into the outer suburbs faster and more seamless.
4. Addresses gridlocked traffic by investing in better infrastructure and smarter traffic management solutions.
Brisbane has the potential to be a leader in public transport if changes are made to better serve its people. The recent go card charges of 50c have been incredible in getting more people to use public transport. If LNP can continue down this path of success (arguably forged by Labor) I believe Brisbane could be a pioneer in public transport, making us a happier, healthier city. I urge the LNP and TransLink to take serious action in addressing these problems. Let's make our city a place where public transport is advantageous for all.
