Improve April Ashley's gravesite

The Issue

EDIT - ALREADY SORTED , VERY RECENTLY (though would be nice if we could get a statue or permanent artistic display of April in the city ? )

As an LGBT person, April Ashley has had a monumental personal impact on me. I truly relate to her journey and the barriers she broke through in her lifetime. This petition is my heartfelt effort to become a part of her enduring legacy and ensure that she is commemorated in a way that honours her pioneering spirit and contributions to the transgender and broader LGBT community.

April Ashley, MBE, was a trailblazer and a true icon who transformed lives and shattered stereotypes. Her contributions to the community are immeasurable, and her story has inspired countless individuals around the world, including myself. Born in Liverpool, she climbed countless personal and societal hurdles, becoming one of the first British people to undergo gender reassignment surgery. Her courage continues to be a beacon of hope for so many in the LGBT community.

Despite her monumental achievements, her current gravesite is not befitting of her stature. It is small, hard to find, and falls short of being a place where admirers and those inspired by her can easily visit to pay their respects. April Ashley's final resting place deserves to shine as brightly as the legacy she left behind.

We call upon the local council and government to take action in ensuring that April's gravesite is improved to reflect her significant impact on the LGBT community and beyond. By doing so, we not only honour a local hero but also provide a dignified and visible site for generations to come.

Let's urge the proper authorities to create a gravesite that respects and acknowledges April's contributions, offering a more accessible, attractive, and fitting tribute.

I invite you to join this movement to improve April Ashley's gravesite by signing this petition. Your signature represents a step towards recognizing her valuable legacy and ensuring she receives the commemoration she rightfully deserves. Thank you for your time and support in making this important change.
