Improve Administration at Hana High and Elementary

Improve Administration at Hana High and Elementary
The Issue
My children have faced unfairness at Hana High and Elementary, victims of bullying not by peers, but by the very adults we trust to educate and nurture them. Teachers and staff, supported by the administration, have treated them unjustly, leaving them feeling voiceless and undervalued. This isn't just about my family; it is emblematic of a broader issue affecting many students at our school.
Unfortunately, the administration tends to brush off these significant concerns, failing to create a nurturing and safe environment where every child feels heard, protected, and motivated to succeed. The lack of responsiveness to such grievances only exacerbates the situation, contributing to a climate where discrimination and unfairness are rampant.
Statistics highlight the detrimental effects of such an environment on students’ mental health and academic performance. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, students who experience bullying and discrimination perform significantly worse academically. The American Psychological Association underscores that a lack of administrative support can exacerbate stress and hinder students' emotional development and academic success.
This petition calls for an overhaul in the administrative practices at Hana High and Elementary. We need concrete actions such as the implementation of a transparent complaint resolution process, regular training and workshops for teachers and staff on discrimination and bullying, and regular assessments to ensure the school environment meets the necessary emotional and educational standards.
The administration must engage with students and parents to better understand their experiences and challenges. It’s crucial that we foster a connected community where parents, teachers, and students collaborate to create a healthy school environment.
Sign this petition to urge the administration at Hana High and Elementary to take meaningful steps towards accountability, fairness, and support for all students.
