Improve Addiction Recovery Services Across Canada
The Issue
I'm putting it all out there, sharing the most embarrassing moments of my life to raise awareness about addiction. Imagine a video of me at my lowest point—a so-called 'good day'—talking to imaginary people, completely lost to the effects of drugs. This was just a few months ago, and it shows how powerful and destructive addiction can be. But I'm sharing it because I need you to see what addiction can do, how it can take everything from you.
I had four years clean and then relapsed for six months. Now, I'm two months into rebuilding my life again. These stories of relapse aren't unique; they're part of the recovery journey that so many face. The reality is, while I'm doing everything I can to stay clean, our addiction recovery services in Canada need to be improved. People are struggling, losing everything they've worked for, just like I did.
We need better, more accessible recovery services across the country. More support, better resources, and compassionate care—these aren't just words on a page. They're lifelines for people like me and countless others who are battling every day. Relapse doesn't have to mean the end, but without the right support, it's a dangerous and destructive possibility.
By improving our addiction recovery services, we can offer hope and a path forward for those trapped in the cycle of addiction. Let's enhance the support systems that fuel recovery journeys and prevent relapse, giving everyone the chance for a better, healthier life.
I urge you to sign this petition. Let's push for change and support a system that uplifts and helps those in need. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many.
