Improve Access to Rural Healthcare Services and Facilities in the Philippines
Aside from death, one of the worst things that may happen to a person is becoming ill. On the other hand, getting sick is not a problem because it is unavoidable; the problem is Healthcare Facilities and Medical expenses. Even though the Philippines has a universal healthcare system called PhilHealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation), the quality of the country's healthcare differs significantly between urban and rural areas. It differs directly from the average income; urban areas have a higher average income than rural areas. As a result, the public healthcare system struggles to maintain balance; urban areas receive excellent equipment and staff, while rural areas lack medications. Their healthcare is not that great either, for specifically, rural areas receive lower-quality services.
Philippine Healthcare provides through private and public hospitals, each of which has trained medical staff. Still, access to healthcare in the Philippines remains an issue, particularly in rural areas. As rural healthcare lacks urban healthcare, the drugs and the limited number of patients that can treat are the Philippines' ongoing issues. In Rural Area Healthcare, there is an absolute lack of pharmaceuticals, and the Healthcare Facilities are challenging to access. Rural residents must travel vast distances to obtain medical care. The few healthcare facilities that exist are small and frequently provide local services. Patients in rural areas have difficulty getting healthcare services due to distance, challenging roads, lack of public transit, and extreme weather conditions.
In the rural areas of the Philippines, many people experience this problem, but who is responsible for the healthcare problems experienced by people living in rural areas?
This petition intends to inform everyone, especially the Government, about Filipino's suffering in medical situations in rural areas of experience due to a lack of health care and facilities.
The Government must spend the country's budget wisely, so the Filipinos do not suffer because of their wrong and impractical way of spending it. A lack of budget will result in poor health care services and facilities. They must increase the funds needed to build facilities in Public hospitals, particularly in rural areas. They should give more priority to the needs of the residents in rural areas, especially in medical matters; they should now be noticed and helped because they are the ones who do not receive help from the Government.
