Ms. Kobusingye Adrine, as the National Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League and a full member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), holds one of the most significant positions within Uganda's ruling party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Her influence extends across a vast array of governmental institutions, law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, and the extensive political machinery of the state. With such considerable power, she plays a crucial role in shaping the policies and governance that affect millions of Ugandans.

Despite her duty to advocate for the rights of women, Ms. Adrine has been accused of engaging in fraudulent activities and abusing her office to serve personal interests, undermining justice and equality. Several credible reports from reputable organizations have highlighted instances where Ms. Adrine has used her position to manipulate legal and governmental processes, engage in corrupt practices, and silence those who oppose her through intimidation tactics.

The international community cannot remain passive when individuals in positions of power engage in egregious acts that contravene the principles of democracy and justice. As concerned citizens, it is imperative to take a stand against such abuses. By imposing a visa and entry ban on Ms. Kobusingye Adrine, the international community can send a strong message that corruption and abuse of power will not be tolerated on the global stage.

We urge the Secretary of State for the Home Department, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and the Executive Director of Frontex to take swift action. Implementing a visa and entry ban on Ms. Adrine will not only hold her accountable for her actions but also serve as a deterrent to other officials who might consider engaging in similar conduct.
