My gorgeous cat, Karen, sadly lost her life recently on Highfields. A place that was home and should have been safe, turned into a scene of tragedy due to the reckless speeding of vehicles.

The road, narrow with blind spots and no pavements is a danger yet cars still drive at excessive and unnecessary speeds.

Highfields and adjoining Millfield Road are not only residential but also routes frequently used by children on their way to and from school and dog walkers on their way to and from Sanders Park.

The absence of speed restrictions in these zones creates a precarious environment, threatening the safety of everyone.

This simple yet effective measure can transform our neighbourhood into a safer place for our community.

I urge the Bromsgrove District Council to take action by imposing speed restrictions on Highfields and Millfield Road. Introducing measures such as speed bumps, prominent signage, and regular monitoring could drastically mitigate speeding and enhance safety for all residents.
