Bees are very resourceful they do what it takes to survive .
After investigating this hive , they discovered their bees were feeding on the colourful shells of M&Ms - a Mars processing plant was located 4 km away from the bees in #France.
The photo shows how easy it is for Beekeepers to cheat. Bees can store sugar syrups the same way they can store nectar from flowers.
Over 10,000,000 kgs of "honey" was imported into Australia and a lot of this honey is suspected to be adulterated. As scientific analysis improve to find fraudulent honey so do the perpetrators and much of this honey gets ultra-filtered and blended. This honey lacks medicinal benefits and some can not be traced.
The world honey price recently dropped just like the global milk prices. In New Zealand this has not effected their honey price but in Australia because we import so much honey and also export blends as product of Australia our price has dropped. While NZ beekeepers get $11 our beekeepers are getting $4.50
Please try to buy honey direct from the beekeeper where possible or buy from a company that does not import honey. Use the honey map.

Bees need to be honoured and respected. Sugar syrups are unhealthy to bees like they are unhealthy for our children.
Nearly 300000 people have signed this petition but the government refuse to change the laws.
