Implore Chris Wallace to demand - No vicious talk! Just issues talk!
The Issue
To Chris Wallace - We the undersigned implore you to use your power to change the presidential debate tonight from Vicious talk to Issues talk.
OK, we get it. Hillary Clinton has lied about emails and defended her husband's alleged sexual assaults; Donald Trump has lied about mass deportations of immigrants and has allegedly sexually assaulted women. But in 20 days, one of them will be the President of our United States and we will decide which one. Tonight's debate is our last chance to learn the real differences in HOW they are going to govern and what they commit to DOING for our country. We need this information so that we can make an informed decision.
To paraphrase Ben Bradlee's observation in All the President's Men, there's not much riding on this decision. Only the future of our country, and our beloved kids and grandkids, for generations.
Chris Wallace, this means you have an enormous responsibility. You can allow another 90 minutes of name-calling and character assassination (a repetition of attacks we've heard for months). Or you can make sure we actually hear the differences on the issues - how do the candidates plan to address the economy, jobs, race relations, criminal justice, civil rights, women's choice, terrorism, climate change, poverty, health care, the Supreme Court, international relationships - we need to know!
Chris Wallace, we implore you to get agreement from the candidates that for this one time, they will stop the character attacks and instead, REALLY ANSWER specific questions about our most important issues. In other words, NO vicious talk. Just issues talk!
IF you accomplish this, you will go down in history as the man who changed the course - and COARSENESS - of the 2016 election. PLEASE do this!
#DebateTheIssues!
Thank you!
